Has anyone received any help from PROFiT? They launched over a year ago. The most recent article I can find about them is from August 2009 that suggests PROFiT will recommend the most effective [anti-fraud] system for agents, operators and suppliers…
Hi Georgie and Alex,
We've written a fair bit on anti-fraud recently in response to the police initiative which launched in Feb. Have a look at travelweekly.co.uk/fraud.
Cheers,
Emily
PS Alex, hope not too bad form to include a link to the TW websit…
Hi Georgie
Interesting - thanks!
But not a single mention of situations where
1) Customer makes a booking for a trip
2) Requests that you send them a letter of invitation to enter that country (so they can get a visa)
3) Cancels the booking

The prevention of fraud in travel PROFiT just launched. Charge-backs can be a nightmare and you, the merchant, foot the bill. Worth taking a look.

As a start-up I've found your advice invaluable whilst researching the bonding and the various travel regulations - thank you.
Would I be right in assuming that 'package' doesn't apply to travel experiences under 24 hours?
This discussion made me chuckle with certain irony as this week has seen us take on the many aspects of starting up in the travel business from negotiating issues around travel regs and bonding to standing in the freezing cold at our local farmers m…
Hi Georgie
I have just started trading as a golf tour operator so can completely sympathise with you about the regulatory issues, however, it is good to be able to advertise to your customers that their money is safe when dealing with your company.…
Dee, please forgive my tardy response to your very insightful suggestions. We've been networking like crazy, as well as completing our first tour of the year - it's been busy to say the least.
Your comments about our terminology is a really good po…
There's a lot I'm passionate about in life, two of them are art and wine. Trying to make a living as an artist/designer was fantastic until I needed to make a real living (coinciding with the patter of tiny feet). Hubby and I turned to our other passion and started an independent wine business. As a result, we've now started English Vine Tours, after recognising the lack of promotion and facility to visit the wonderful vineyards of England.
Describe your travel products:
We supply tour and bespoke packages to individual and group travelers and corporate customers, around various vineyards in Sussex and Kent. Tours start from half days to one and two day tours. We also provide 'special' day tours which along with a vineyard tour, may include a trip to horse races afterwards or the opera perhaps. We're unique in that all transportation is provided, every tour is accompanied by a wine expert and that we are the first tour operator to offer this service. We're also passionate about English wine and promoting this wonderful industry!

Congratulations on your business and your website! Good luck with it.
Funnily, I actually came across your very website 1-2 weeks ago when googling (though sorry it wasn't to buy a wine tour, but to show someone a vineyard I used to live near). You had really good rankings - as you're just starting out, that's a real achievement.
send me an email ed@8media.co.nz with a link to your website and I will introduce you to Robyn Lewis by email http://www.visitvineyards.com/home/wine-food-travel-articles/robyn-lewis-profile
BTW you should submit your website to http://www.travelbeen.com a new travel search engine that I launched in Nov.
