Really usefel answer Ralph. Out of interest what kind of commission can you get on flights booked through consolidators And are the prices they quote you competitive with what a customer can check online?

Excel spreadsheet Edd!? TourCMS is fine for managing consolidator sourced flight details...... and then you can keep them alongside the tour components too - and keep on top of your bookings!

Wondering if people find it beneficial to join NTA or ASTA? Seems as if a tour operator new to this business has to join as a supplier rather than a "tour operator" - but just wondering if people find it worthwhile. Thanks for any input!DebSee More

Thanks Edd. I had emailed the consolidator and was impatiently awaiting a reply!   For now I will stick without a GDS but hopefully a mass of bookings will force me into it!   Here's hoping!   Many thanks   Simon

To book flights through a consolidator, you do need your TTA license in place, but technically you don't need a GDS - as long as you have an account with the consolidator, you can book through their trade portal or on the phone etc. But of…

Buying flights through a consolidator

Hello thereI am looking to establish my own tour organiser offering bespoke tours and packages to a single country destinations. I am looking to join the TTA for bonding, card facilities etc and have my suppliers sorted but looking for a consolidator to buy flights through. Although may have found one. My question is how easy is it to buy flights through a consolidator without an in-house GDS?Or is that a silly question? Many thankssimonSee More
